State of the Art Technology

HARD AND SOFT TISSUE LASER

We currently are the only practice in the High Country offering this technology to our patients. The laser allows us to offer patients the comfort of doing many dental procedures with the need for little or no anesthesia. In many cases fillings can be done with little or no “drilling”. We, along with our patients are very excited about this. Dr. Lineberry has been using this technology since 2006.

IN-OFFICE WHITENING
We offer ZOOM2! the in office whitening procedure that allows us to whiten teeth in less than a hour. Digital Radiography
We have been using this technology in our practice since 2002. Taking x-rays digitally allows us to take x-rays on patients and reduce their exposure to radiation by almost 90%! It also offers us the convenience of being able to instantly view the tooth or teeth in question. This can be a great comfort to patients coming to our office in pain and in need of relief as quickly as possible. Seeing is believing, and with this technology we have the ability to show patients what is going on in their mouth. Again, this technology gives us the ability to educate and communicate with our patients more effectively.

Cavity detecting Lasers
We have been using the Diagnodent laser in our office since 2005. It was originally approved by the FDA for early detection of cavities. It has since gained approval from the American Dental Association and has been researched extensively for effectiveness and accuracy. The Diagnodent laser has a cavity detection rate of over 90% on certain types of cavities versus the old method of less than 50%. Therefore, allowing us to detect cavities earlier and treat them more conservatively, possibly without the need for anesthesia or drilling.

IntraOral Cameras
This technology allows us to give patients a visual tour of their mouth. It assists us in working the patient to help them understand what we see.

This gives us the opportunity to educate and communicate more effectively the treatment necessary to achieve and maintain good oral health.

Dental Anesthetic
We routinely use a dental anesthetic, Septocaine/Articaine that has been available in the United States since 2001. It has been used routinely in Europe and Canada for many years and has become the number one local anesthetic in the United States since it has been introduced here. Its popularity is due in large part to its ability to “numb” an area unlike any other anesthetic used in the past. Most patients comment after having a procedure done using this anesthetic that this is the first time they have had no pain or discomfort while having a dental procedure.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dr. Lineberry completed an extensive 9 month implant program that involved over 200 hours of surgical and prosthetic training in 2007. Dr. Lineberry received training in surgical placement of implants as well as bone regeneration, implant reconstruction involving 3-D CT Scans, along with a variety of other procedures necessary to plan, place, and restore implants properly. We now offer implant placement using the Nobel Biocare implant system, used more extensively than any other system in the world. Computer Generated Cosmetic
and Smile Makeovers
For our patients looking for a “new smile” or other cosmetic procedures, through photos and computer simulations we can offer them a preview of the potential results they can expect upon completion of treatment. Yes, kind of like on Extreme Makeover. Before we ever pick up a drill, this affords us the ability and opportunity to give patients a “sneak peek” at what they can expect with the endless possibilities of modern dentistry.

Patient Education Modules
We offer CAESY patient education modules. This computer based program allows our patients to gain a better understanding of their dental conditions and helps answer a lot of questions they may have by putting things in simplified and easy to understand learning aids.

Surgical Microscope/Magnification
Microscopes and magnification have been available in dentistry for some time. Unfortunately this technology is grossly underutilized. Dr. Lineberry has been using magnification since graduating from Dental School in 2000. He has recently begun using the most advanced level of magnification, a surgical microscope. We are currently the only practice in the area that routinely uses this technology in the practice of dentistry. With the ability to see areas of concern up to 24 times their normal size, we can see and diagnose issues that may otherwise be missed and go undiagnosed with the naked eye.
